Check out this story and let me know what you think.

I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised, but I didn’t expect this level of disgusting-ness (yes, I just made up a word).

I guess I’ll be staying away from real glasses.  Yes, the story may be a been sensationalized, but it does make you think.

Cell Phone / PDA to replace boarding passes…

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Check out this link about using a cell phone or PDA instead of the paper boarding passes.

I personally think it is a great idea. Instead of a paper boarding pass, you show your cell phone or PDA to the TSA and the airline. On that would be a bar code and information that was sent to your phone when you purchased a ticket. I don’t think it is any less secure than being able to print your own boarding pass at home.

Think about it. What is the secure part of a boarding pass? Really it’s the bar code that links you to more information in the system. You still have to have your ID and whatnot. I think it’s a huge convenience boost. I’d much rather not have to carry a paper boarding pass.

Of course, you’d still have to show ID so that they can verify who you are. It’d be bad if you lose your Blackberry and then someone else boards the flight as you. But again, this is no different than a paper boarding pass.

Thoughts?
